Mic to Monitor hosted by Prism Sound alongside fellow leading manufacturers GIK Acoustics, Genelec, Rode and VIP Speaker John-Angus MacDonald from the Trews came to Musitechnic for a free educational event.
GIK Acoustics talked to us the importance of room acousitcs and tips and tricks on the best practices of sound proofing a room.
Rode gave us a crash course on microphones, how to read spec sheets of a specific microphones as well as choosing a microphone to get the exact sound you want from the recording.
Prism Sound explained to us the importance of how a sound interface should be. With extensive testing on different models of sound interfaces from various comapanies, they show us some of them would colour the sound on the recording stages and how that can affect our judgement towards an interface.
Genelec demo’ed us their product line of SAM Coaxial Studio Monitors. They are 3 way point source monitors, regarded as a holy grail of loudspeaker design. With their GLM Software, you can calibrate any room to always be in the sweetspot.
Finally, we also had John-Angus MacDonald from The Trews as a VIP guest Speaker.
