Industry News – NAMM 2021 (Online)


Due to the current worldwide situation, NAMM 2021 was held online and we thought it could be convenient for anyone who missed it to gather the latest gear release news.

Therefore here is a – non-exhaustive – list of some of the best stuff that was released lately:

Zoom G6


Multi-effect processor for guitarists

New amp models and brand new effets along the classic ones. (135 preloaded effects, 240 user patches).


A looper provides up to 256 loops with a maximum time of two hours when using an SD-card.

Mono input, stereo output volume control, mono FX loop, aux in, control in and headphones out.
You may also use the G6 as a recording interface via its USB port.
Cubase LE software is offered with it.

Korg

Korg has announced a lot of things in the past few months! Take a look to those 5 below:

Wavestate SE

New version of the Wavestate welcoming the addition of aftertouch and complete revoicing of all the patches to make them aftertouch ready / responsive.

Minikorg FS


Korg also released a new version of its first analog synth.
Back in 1973, the miniKorg 700 was their first mass-produced synth.
The new one is a revival of the MiniKorg 700S (released in 1974) with added functionalities such as a spring reverb effect, a joystick for pitchbend & modulation, aftertouch on the 37-not keyboard. Also welcomes an arpeggiator while connectivity includes USB, MIDI In and CV/Gate in.

Modwave

Another classic brought back to life and given the hybrid treatment by Korg.
This new wavetable synth promises to take the DW-800 legacy.
200 wavteables, each containing up to  64 waveforms. Up to  30+ mods and 13 morph types for realtime processing.
This incredible synthesis engine combined with an A/B blend knob allows for over 230 million possibilities !

And if that wasn’t enough, you can even load your own custom wavetables in Serum or WaveEdit formats via the software that comes along the synth.

ARP 2600 M

A downsized remake of the classic semi-modular synth, same analog circuitry as the ARP 2600 FS, the only difference would be on the spring reverb which has been re-engineered and adapted to the smaller body size.

Should allow to have a more affordable & portable version of this legendary synth.

Drumlogue

An hybrid analog and digital drum machine promising multiple analog parts, flexible digital ones and a complete effect section. There will also be the option to load your own samples and to add custom third party content via a revised Logue SDK.

Softube – Weiss EQ MP

A 7-band EQ, 1:1 ported code from the outboard unit, promising transparency and accuracy for surgical mixing applications. Enhancements include continuous unstepped frequency settings and expanded filter slopes. You also have a resizable GUI with dark/light mode options.

Roland Verselab MV-1

At the crossroads of a 4*4 pad grid, an 808-style sequencer and Roland’s ZEN-Core sounds, you’ll find the new Verselab MV-1 by the renowed audio brand Roland.

4 Drum tracks, each including kick, snare, hihat and entire drum kit sub-tracks.

2 Instrument tracks, along with the 3000+ sounds from ZEN-Core, for the melodic part,

1 Bass track, again taking advantage of the Roland instruments suite.

It includes an XLR port to also connect a microphone directly into it. You’ll be able to apply a few effects on the vocal track.

The Verselab MV-1 also offers a mixing mode with EQ, panning, volume to refine your sound.

Synchro Arts VocAlign Ultra

VocAlign is a vocal alignment software that allows syncing up multiple vocal tracks faster and with more accuracy.

The latest update allows you to work with more complex and longer vocal files. It also introduces new ways to visualize your edits with 2 display modes (Waveform & Pitch).
